I was wondering about the carrier pigeons. Back in the days when the mails were sent through pigeons, how did the peolpe ensured that their pigeons will not be tempted to join these other pigeons pecking bird seed. If they were fed well before the flight then didn't that made them sluggish. I guess back in those days the hackers would wait on their terrace with bird seed to steal the message. I guess the data was not any safer back than then it is now...just thinking abot identity theft, what could be the items with which one could have done it in the past.
