I was almost in tears by the time I got to my office yesterday. The most difficult thing in my work life is the travel and the railway was determined to make it even more difficult for me by terminating the train to CST at Vadala. If leaving the passengers stranded midway was not enough in itself, they made them shuttle between two platforms a few times for the next available train. After watching the circus for a while, I gave up and took a cab only to be stuck in the traffic. I managed to reach my office in 2 hours and a half and although the round trip to the office ended up costing me Rs.400, I stayed there for a time much less than the four hours it took me to get there and back. I couldn't even join my colleagues for the Diwali lunch. Since that time I am having bad feeling about this Diwali.
I had decided not wish Happy Diwali to anyone but then I thought better of it. The image I have selected is not a conventional image you'd see but I found it appropriate since this is the scale Diwali has been reduced to by the stock market crash.
