7th April 2008 :: Heavy cloud but no rain

The two nawabs in Lucknow station missed a train as they both tried to get in at the same time and then stood on the platform saying “after you”. This “after you” continued till the train left the platform. After the train left, they walked and resumed the “after you” at the gate of the railway station and it went on till one of them collapsed due to a heat stroke and had to be taken to the hospital. The scene has now moved to the city f Bombay which has the largest population in the world traveling by the train everyday and even now people are missing trains everyday but here they don't insist on “after you”. They say “Me first you SOB” and push aside the others. People are still taken to hospital from railway stations everyday (about 10 per day, dead or alive) but that is for an entirely different reason.

So you see we Mumbaikars may be progressive and modern but we are maintainig our age old traditions as well.
