A duck, but not the one that failed to score

23rd December 2008

Usually I am quite successful in making birds pose for me. I have photographed parrots, pigeons, kites, sparrows, crows and other birds and not just birds, some cats, lions, tigers have also posed for me. However this duck was proving to be a difficult case. I was following it around the the edge of the pond but it kept swimming away as if purposly trying to avoid me. Finally I called

“Hey” and it pretended not to notice me so I called again “Hey, I am talking to you” and fdinally he looked around and said “Who me?”
“Yes, you”
“What is it?”
“Why are you trying to avoid me?”
“Am I? I think you are mistaken, I didn't knew you were here.”
“Bullshit. I have been photographing birds and I can tell when one is trying to be evasive.”
“Well if you know so much, you should also know the reason why I am avoiding you.”
“I'm sorry?”
“Oh Come on!”
“No I am not sure what it is.”
“Well, take a look around, you see all these female ducks following me”
“I can't tell if they are males or females but I take your word for it.”
“You know I have been scoring quite well... those ducklings are the score card actually”
“and...”
“You still don't get it, you are quite thick.”
“That's down right rude”
“Is it? And I guess it is very flattering to have a picture of me on your cricket score boards when a batsman fails to score.”
